Hey, By the way: What’s everyone bringing to cookout? Are we doing a Hibachi grill too? Need any side dishes?

Only problem so far has been accommodating both Mrs wobby and the big tent. I have two 10x10s. If those will suffice. That would be good. As far as cookout seriously. Mrs wobby has it covered. It’ll. Be Vermont themed. If you bring your beverage of choice that would be wise. And chairs.

By all means then, I think I speak for everyone when I advise you to choose Mrs. Wobby over the big tent.

I, of course agree that you should bring Mrs Wobby.

    2 x 10 x 10 = 10 x 20.  Except that 2 10 x 10’s includes Mrs Wobby.  That is an easy one even if we weren’t having a cookout.

(And Mrs Wobby even brings a Vermont themed cookout.  A “no brainer”.)

Okay 10x10s it is. Mrs wobby Appreciates all the support. Shes already having concerns about the only source of power being a generator. She hates anything motorpowered. Only because I will figure out a way to take it apart for use as something else see you all Thursday.

OK..looks like you all are set for a good time, but just remember that for those of us who can’t make it this year, if there aren’t any pictures…it didn’t happen. Have a great time!!

    Thanks Ed.  I needed that!

Today my Carlisle bound Bugeye Sprite friend came over and was studying my 2013 Decal.  I asked him “Isn’t it the same as yours?”   He said no, “mine is on straight”.  I told him to go home.

That darn decal is the stickiest thing I ever wrestled with.

From Bruce Stumpp of the Speedster group:

Finally finished the traveler awards!   Every year we recognize the
folks who put on the most miles to join us in Carlisle.  At this
year’s Saturday evening awards dinner we will present awards for “The
longest distance driven – Speedster”, “The longest distance trailered –
Speedster”, “The longest distance traveled – Coupe”, “The longest
distance traveled – Spyder” and, for the first time: “The longest
distance traveled – MG”.  The MG’s have been supporting this event for a
few years now so we thought it was about time we recognized them too.

And a bit of history…when I was an officer of the New Jersey Replicar Club, we welcomed a handful of Speedster owners to Carlisle. They joined our activities and dinners.

The NJRC is long gone…but we helped create quite a monster with the Speedster Owners Group! 😉

Now they are paying it back by helping us!

Although I covet that trophy, I’m nowhere near a contender for longest distance traveled.

What a nice job they did on the trophies!

Longest distance traveled or longest distance traveled driving your TD?

Google maps says 536 miles for MiGi & Julie & me.

I thought for sure that I was going to get beat out this year by either Rocky, from Fla or Allen, from Ga, but they both finked out.  (Just kidding guys.)

We look forward to seeing you all again and meeting some new folks also as well as Mrs Wobby and Mrs Ed.  (What does that make you Ed?)

    Al, et al

The SOG does four awards for Speedsters & Spyders

“The longest distance driven – Speedster”

“The longest distance trailered – Speedster”

“The longest distance traveled – Coupe”

“The longest distance traveled – Spyder”

Since we support their activities and their registration numbrs, they added an award for longest distance traveled for the MG guys, regardless of how teh car got there.

If we want to limit that to TDs that are driven to Carlisle, I will let Bruce know.

    What say yee?

For 2013 the horses have already left the gate.

    For 2014 and later:
Our cars are small and it would be impossible for many to get their wives and all the stuff necessary for a 2 or 3 day outing (not including travel days) into their autos.
Distance driven would likely limit the “award” to TDers from very few states.
Driving 1072 miles in a MGTD is worthy of a whopping big award and is something that I could/would have attempted when I was in my 20’s.  Do we have any 20 or even 30 year old members?
No offense Al, but IMHO only those who attended last year should have a say in the next years rules.
All that being said,  I will recuse myself from voting.

I wasn’t trying to cause any trouble.

Bruce said longest travelled. And that’s the same for the Coupes and Spyders.

Let’s just leave it at that.

No trouble here Paul.  A reasonable rule might be that no TD can win 2 successive years.

    Carlisle or Bust!
