correct engine oil

Hi, checked the search but cannot find any info re correct engine oil for 67 vw migi.  Any info??

More info than you’ll ever want to know about VWs and motor oil is here. And Rob and Dave’s Aircooled web site is awesome for lots of other VW info too!.

 

Suffice to say, 10W/30 or 10W/40 will be just fine.

I have done some research on this subject The 3 top synthetic oils are Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Mobile 1 . Some people here use synthetic oil and swear by it . Brad Penn would be a good choice . Buy it on line. The key word being high in ZINC. There is a good hotrod oil made for older engines . You can buy it at PEP BOYS .I was in contact with all of these people . I went with Royal Purple available at Wall Mart.
