If the engine is in the back, it’s a VW version. Welcome!

Unless, of course, it’s Ed’s car.  Smile

Mine’s still a “VW version.” She’s only about 15 percent Subaru, by weight.

In fact, let’s figure this out. Guessing the car weighs 1600 pounds.
Engine is 270 lbs or so.  16.8 percent.
Chassis, suspension, pan: 650: 40.6 percent
    Transaxle: 75 lbs: 4.7 percent
-so VW stuff is 45 percent or more.
BCW stuff: fiberglass body and inner panels: 350 lbs; 22 percent
Windshield, bumpers, top, lights, spare tire and rack 120 lbs: 7.5 percent
Seats, carpet, upholstery: 85 lbs: 5.3 percent
So she’s roughly 35 percent BCW, 45 percent VW, 17 percent Suby and the last 3 percent is probably mostly diehard battery, custom work (6-lb dashboard!) and a few actual MG components.

Ed’s calculations are based upon a 1600# guess.  Looking at the FAQ’s in the linked site, I think this is an appropriate response to Ed’s “figgerin'”:

Wow, I almost forgot.  Welcome mgfan.  (We like to have fun while we learn about our cars – and other stuff too.)
