    Just saw this craigslist ad:

    http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2612310420.html

Poster says it’s in “INCREDIBLE” shape, but also says it isn’t running. Asking $7,500, but calls himself “motivated to sell” so maybe there’s some wiggle room.

side curtains are terrible. Interior looks good though. And the engine is apparently complete. Might be a deal at $3k

    Not a bad looking Duchess.

But I’ve NO idea where those all clear side curtains came from.

The kinds of things the seller mentions to get the engine started sound like simply “common sense” stuff for any car that has sat for a while. Battery is, for sure, dead. New battery, check the carbs & fuel filter, get rid of the old oil, maybe even drain and flush the gas tank and I bet it will start.

A lot depends on how many years it sat.

But the body looks terrific. The interior and top look great.

And it’s a red Classic Roadsters Ltd. Duchess!

I’m not in the market for another TD myself, but it seems like someone from down San Antonio way was looking to buy awhile ago.

In your opinions, how much is it worth? I’m thinking about buying it.

This would be my first kit car and im having a hard time finding similar

    cars for sale.

Like Paul said ,it is a Classic Roadster Duchess, one of the better replicas. A great looking car except for the side curtains and they offer GREAT visibility .

Ed’s price $3000 would be a reasonable starting point, and a meeting somewhere in the middle might be acceptable.

If you could hear it run ,it would give you a better feel for what you are buying. If the mechanical aspect of the car is as good as the appearance,it’s a very desirable TD Replica.

Mathew: PM me if you decide to check it out. I work odd hours, but would be willing to go along or meet you there and give you the benefit of what (little) I’ve learned about TD replicas since buying mine in 2007. If nothing else, a second pair of eyes can’t hurt.

    Mbenson,

Let me know if you decide to go for this.  I have a coworker who is considering an  MG TD replica.

The car is no longer listed, so I guess somebody bought it.
