    Need a little help from the chevy owners . I need to know where the tach hooks up to on the motor, I know it’s a red wire on the dash.

    Most electric tachs connect to the coil or distributor where it can ‘see’ the pulses. Electronic tachs may need to connect to the computer. Mechanical tachs (Which I understand you don’t have) come off the cam shaft or distributor drive.

    You should have two wires to the coil. Hot wire coming in and the other going to the distributor. Connect the tach wire to the distributor circuit.
