Well news to me. First I didn’t know anything about the MG TD, much less replica, and now this. Been learning more and more since getting my MGTDr.

I see that dash board on the work bench. Any chance of those being octagonal, like originals?

Wheels seem to be original type. But I can only go by pictures I’ve seen.

Hope you get it on the road ne…[Read more]

  • Thanks David. Yeah, the “tunnel”… I will go looking when I can.

  • Food for thought.

I’ve loaded my hood compartment with so much stuff, I worry about the reservoir getting jostled by loose tools and container boxes. Of course it wouldn’t take much to enclose with a little protective shield either, just thinking about those short lengths of blue hose being possibly older than 32 years.

  • Only sonic warning I have is from one of my truck brakes, and it’s more like a dog whistle. No squeal yet from braking, but been through that before so I don’t trust sounds to warn me when they don’t always do so.

No way of knowing if low pressure was ever a factor here since first thing I did was refill brake fluid. Those wire connectors were…[Read more]

  • And maybe no relation between low fluid and lights, I couldn’t be sure.

I was going to take the car out today for the 2nd time this month, first yesterday. Realized no red light reflection in the chrome luggage rack when backing out of driveway. No idea about yesterday.

Fuses all okay so looked at brake pedal for a switch, not there. Checked…[Read more]

Heh-heh, yeah, or powered by a squirrel wheel. Sometimes seems like mine is anyway.

I don’t think there’s spare wheel venting for mine, solid round panel inside, and the car did well during the summer on 90 degree days too. Oil temp showed up to 230 after 10’s of miles going 70 MPH, usually around 220 to 225 on the highway.

    Let idle about…[Read more]

  • Missed seeing about this until your reply secretagentcat. Yeah, I was wanting a Corvette since 40 years ago. Got to mean something to at least want one.

Just this past January I finally bought a ’77, last year of the flat back window, and first year they were available in black (without a special order anyhow). Mine was and is black but shows s…[Read more]

  • I didn’t know the forum changed the way it’s done, sorry. If you look at ACTIVITY atop the web page here you might see my message where I was able to add a picture of the image button I was talking about. But unfortunately it doesn’t work the same as it did before this forum changed its format. Used to be able to simply select a file after…[Read more]

  • Hmm. Okay. So it shows only here in ACTIVITY…? Anyway… picture is of the message reply showing where the Insert Image button is located. Painted with blue spot to highlight that.
Seems like that method requires you to use an online (web address) picture. But don’t quote me on that, I just now realized this is all different from the old forum…[Read more]

Well, I must plead ignorance on the whole picture upload thing. Now that the forum has changed it’s all different from how it was before the change. I guess newer members here…

  • You taught me something. Thanks! So that must mean I have a CMC here too… unless there’s more to it than just that. 🙂

I guess we’re still hoping for pics, wannabtd? More than the little profile picture I squinted at already. Ha ha! Looked like your convertible top fits down behind the seats better than mine does, if there is a top folded…[Read more]

  • To upload pictures you just need to use the image button (tiny mountains, sun) and go through the process of selecting them from your device and sending them here. Or look at gallery section.

It’s probably a MiGi but I don’t know the specifics on what makes them different from others.

Probably would require a hose put onto the horizontal inlet tube that can reach above the top of the tank, 90 degree elbow for example, and a way to put a cap on that. Likewise for the smaller tube opening next to it, or plug it somehow. So getting it above the top of the tank and positioned solidly might be the most difficult thing to do.

    I…[Read more]

That’s the type with the filler neck on that shallow end  angled corner I was talking about before.

You would either need to find a way to connect a filler hose leading out to somewhere, or remove that neck and move it to the opposite corner.

To have it the same way ours are (passenger/windshield corner) means welding a plate over where that l…[Read more]
