Why did they ruin a beautiful roadster with an automatic transmission?

I see it all the time. Those big, tall skinny shifters help hide the fact, but it does offend my delicate sensibilities to see a ’50s or ’60s style rod sporting an auto trans.

Wouldn’t necessarily mind trading places with them, though, when crawling through downtown traffic or, like yesterday, when situated on the ramp leaving Lowes and unable to find first gear.

Laughing with you Ed. Been there and done that myself many times with some fool on my back bumper trying to get a better look of my car.

Switching out the standard transmission to automatic should be illegal, unless there is a compelling health reason.
