    @pmossberg

    A couple really terrific sources for information on original MG TDs:

    Much of the content on our TD History “T-Series” page comes from this site: http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgtd/index.html

    This one is great too: http://www.mg-td.com/

    This one has a variety of British auto brochures: http://www.car-brochures.eu/

    I have spent (lost?) a lot of time reading through these sites.

    And in case you thought you got such a great deal on your TD Replica…TDs sold for about $2,100 in the US when they were new.

    Paul,

    Is there a thread developing here? Add the paint page to these, included the comments on VW wheels and repurposed hubcaps (genius) and we’re on our way to a central repository of sources for parts and features that would make TD replicas look more authentic.

    We have Peter & Paul here, where?s Mary?

    I think the entire forum is already the ?central repository? you refer to.

    Broad threads that cover too many topics seem to become less useful for people that are looking for help. Just my opinion…one thread that included parts sources, car features, paint, wheels, hub cap ideas?would become unusable. Picture yourself looking for wheel & hub cap ideas and having to scroll through a body paint discussion to find the wheel posts.

    Threads that target specific subjects and judicious use of the Search tool allow us to zero in on the info we are seeking.

    For those interested in the inspiration for our replicas, the links I posted above are just a collection of nicely done histories of original TDs. They are not parts sources. You can find parts sources in topic-specific threads all over our forum.

    Just FYI, the Paint page is part of the mgcars.org.uk site.
