Funny piece in the NY Times blog by a guy who took the time to read the tiny print on his credit card contract. Turns out they won’t cover your insurance if you rent a Delorean or Excalibur. Or other “exotic” or antique vehicle.

Ah, but what about a TD Replica?

Many insurance companies can classify a car that is 10 or more years old as a classic, and if 25 years old, an antique.  The TD replica might get classified as one of those, so I’d double check the insurance contract and the credit card contract.

    Always good advice.

My take on the story was that the boilerplate language was as ancient as the automobile models it proscribed.
