Lafer would buy chassis/engine combos (new) from VW and factory assemble the car. It actually has prettier lines than the MG. You may be able to find one by contacting our MP USA Club president at ifrinn@bellsouth.net, mplaferclube@bellsouth.net…he may have some good leads.
