It is 2 1/4 inches wide (60 mm).

Are you planning on installing a new car radio, something that looks retro?

I’ve just removed my radio, was not working and looked too modern.  I covered the gap with an MG blanking plate which I brought on Ebay.

When I first purchased the car it had these hexagonal cut outs fitted between the gauge bezel and dash.  I had to remove the gauges to take them off.  They are chromed brass, but the chrome is a bit pitted with blue/green spots.
