Like you, I researched all the available wiring diagrams before going with the Painless Kit, and still had to refer to them a little bit on some circuits.

Boy, does that ever look familiar. Fuse blocks and ground blocks look exactly like MY Daytona MiGi’s when I got her. Only my wires were ALL green, and a tangled bird’s nest. I spent days and days, weeks and weeks, trying to trace circuits down. My son ( pretty versed in VW’s ) talked me into scrapping it all and starting over. I purchased a P…[Read more]

Thanks for the tip, Mike. That’s basically what I ended up doing, after getting the coil out of the way…fuel pump was already off. I will give you a text. My next move is to make some sense of the “bird’s nest” of wiring I was left with. My VW versed son helped me track the ignition wiring down in December, and we got the beast running, alt…[Read more]

By the way, oldnslow, what size tires did you get for Ol Breezy? I found some 165R15’s, and had them mounted, but if I can find a 135R15, I can get a spare under the Hood/Trunk.

Hey, oldnslow, you’re just up the road from me. I’m in Republic, MO. My MiGi is slowly coming to life… rebuilt front torsion bar, master cyl., wheel cyl’s, floor pans, dash panel, various other neglected items. Spent yesterday rebuiding the Solex carb, got frustrated trying to get front carb/manifold bolt to start. Will try again tod…[Read more]

I recently acquired a MIGI TD project. Among many questions, my current quiz is: Where is the best FUEL FILLER placement. The one on mine is under the front “bonnet”, requiring opening the bonnet, and filling the fuel there. I’ve had an idea to route the filler tube to the fake radiator /moto meter, attach the moto meter to the fuel fill…[Read more]
