<p>How tight is the fan belt? Generators use bushings, not bearings. If the belt is as tight as you can make it you could have worn bushings which explains the rubbing noise. Try shaking the generator pulley when you remove the belt. There should be no play in the shaft. </p>

It pulls off with a clean edge. Applying it might not be so bad if you press down the middle of the tape along the welting and then use a thin piece of plastic to tuck in the edges.  </p>

<div>Have you been tracking your gas mileage? It will go up once the correct thermostat is controlling the temp and the enrichment circuit is turned off. The heater will work better too. Just in time for Fall cruising with the top down. </div>

It&#8217;s hard to believe that an engine could run that cool. You could be up to the correct temperature. I would start with the gauge and sending unit first.</p>

I rotated the wheel to put each bolt at the top in succession. Keeping the wheel from rotating while I torqued the bolts required a lot of up and down if I used the parking brak&hellip;</div>

Is the color of your brake fluid clear or murky brown. It isn&#8217;t the latter you have water in the fluid. Flush the system and start over with new fluid.  </p>
