A sixteenth  of an inch might give all the room you need.If this works it would not require any new holes ,just maybe longer screws.Raising the hood may also give the room you need to fit the grille  but may effect the fit at the cowel.</p>

It would require changing the intake manifold since the one barrel manifold carb mounting surfaces would not match up with the larger two barrel carb. BCW had to design shock mounts to clear the TD fenders as the Chevette shocks would not fit  in the stock position.I&#8217;m guessing that they cut the springs which along with the lighter weight of the TD gives a stiff ride.</p>

That will allow the shocks to compress when the springs compress when going over a bump etc.and extend when the wheel drops into a hole. Are the new shocks the same length as the old ones?
