The Great Race, a road rally for oldies, comes through Chambersburg in western PA next Tuesday AM on the way to Hershey. Some of the Speedster folks are planning a meet-up and maybe ride-along. Any interest?

    Thread drift…but I’m blaming Allen!

    Allen…my old stomping grounds!

As a kid (early to mid-1960’s) I spent my summers in a tiny house on North Road in Peru. No running water, but we had a two-seater out-house, which I thought was hysterical because NO ONE ever used it two at a time! My great-grandfather built the house in 1909, his daughter, my grand-mother, took it over as a summer place when he died.

My great-grand parents are buried in a tiny cemetary in Hinsdale.

Swimming at Cashmere Lake (sic?). Used to be a public beach where there are lake front houses now. And a BIG night for us was to go into Pittsfield to go to Friendly’s! They only existed in New England at the time.

OK, back to the Great  Race now.

I would be interested in following on my own time, some of the routes this and past Great Races have followed.  Does anyone know how I can find the routes of past races, highways, and by-ways?  This looks like it would be a lot of fun, staying off the Interstates.

The route is actually kept a secret until after race. It should be available following race on the hemmings website
