    All right all you motor heads.Yesterday i was installing some new parts on my car and decided to start it up. Well it started right up.Good sign.As i was watching it run drip drip drip.Looks like its comming from push rod tubes area.I let it warm up for awhile it slowed then quit What do you people think.

    Had you recently changed the oil?  If so, I think you dribbled some.  It’s not uncommon for VWs to have small leaks in this area though.  It’s not mandatory, but not uncommon.

    A couple of things come to mind. The pushrod tubes may be loose. See if they turn/rotate. If so the head nuts my be starting to work loose. If not loose, check that the valve cover is on correctly and secure.

     

    Is it on the same side as the oil cooler? Oil might be blowing by the seals while the engine is cold and then as the engine comes up to operating temp the seals warm up and stop the leak.
