While I was picking up my car, the seller told me that a spare would not fit anywhere on the car so he just carried a can of fix-a-flat.  That sounds ok, but is there a better way to deal with getting a flat on the road?

The car is a Fiberfab II  —
    Thanks,  Jack

My Chrysler Crossfire had big wheels on a small car so no spare. They included a 12volt DC pump and a can of fix a flat.

Hmm, being old and having always had a spare tire in my vehicles makes me a little paranoid about driving around with just a can of flat fixer — even if I add a 12 volt air pump to the mix…and even though I have not had to change a flat tire in quite a long time —

Hey guys, despite having seen many of your Cars at Carlisle, I didn’t realize that I may be one of few that carries a spare in the bonnet.

I had been admiring your nice clean trunks (bonnets) and was even thinking of how to re-do mine but not at the expense of leaving my spare at home.
Recall that I did try to relocate my spare to the rear, a ‘la Continental kit.  Not enough room.  My carburetor takes up room inside my fake Continental cover.  I drilled out all the pop rivets and removed my Continental cover before I realized that there was no way to mount my spare on the engine cover.

I am presently making an exterior tire mount that would work outside of the cover similar to the real TD. Will have photos soon…

As a starter, here is a spare tire rack from a 53 MG TD…
