    Hi folks,

I just opened the CIP-1 package, pulled out the replacement 1970 VW Beetle speedometer cable
I purchased and now I need both a cable stretcher and an attaching nut expander…
…Seems I forgot about needing a looooong speedo cable and not a stock VW cable.
This is for my red BCW “big block” TDr.  The car has a Classic Instruments speedometer.  I found that the threaded end of the speedo is not standard 1970 VW nor is it VDO thread.
When I purchased the car, the seller said, in passing, that the speedo was “not hooked up”
…actually the center cable was broken about 6″ in from the left front wheel and the rest of the center cable was completely gone.                                                                                                                                           Where do I go from here?  Thanks

You’ll need a VW bus speedo cable I believe.

Jack: The cabel you need is part #211957801 . It is a bus cabel. The nut on the speedometer to hold the cable is or was a part of the gauge set. Vw nut does not fit and has to be removed.

You might be able to get one from the gauge manfacture or if someone here changed gauges and kept the nut. Good luck.

Jack: MG Magic Has both the cable and nut needed. Cable can be ordered with nut needed and nut can be ordered seperately.
