    @huskykicker

    I used to have a 1963 VW bug and I remember that it had air intake vents in the rear portion of the car just under the back window. I wonder why none (or none that I have seen) do not have any venting for air. Are they not needed in a TD Kit? I have a Fiberfab and it has no vents in the rear. Just wondering.

    My guess…

    The VW engine compartment is completely sealed. The only air flow to the engine fan is via the vents under the window.

    In the TDr, the front of the engine compartment is not sealed, so there is more than sufficient airflow for the engine fan.

    Well, I’m certainly glad to hear that. I was dangerously close to taking my freshly sharpened hatchet and chopping a hole in the back of my TD. I will sleep soundly tonight.
