71 VW Stock Wheel Size?

    I used to have a chart for wheel sizes for stock VWs but it is still in a safe place that I can’t remember (having one of those senior moments). Anyway…the 71 owners manual states the wheel is 4J x 15. Am I correct in thinking that the 4J equates to 4-1/2 x 15? Seems to make se3nse to me but want to be certain. Thanks.

    Yes, it was a 4.5″x15.  Only the special edition wheels, like on the Sun Bug, etc., were 5.5″ wheels.
