Given their complete lack of safety devices, I would not put anyone but a C.O.P.* behind the wheel of such a device as ours.*Certified Old Person

Got both of my shirts yesterday. Excellent fit and quality work. I took some pics that I’ll post as soon as Cox Cable comes and changes out their POS modem so I can get on line again. Might be time to change internet provider.

Not to say that the coil is your problem, but like I said before, a coil can test OK when cold, (testing resistance of the windings), and after it is used in riding for a while and gets heated up in the engine compartment, it may fail. Then it tests OK when cold again. Like mine did. After I replaced it, my car never stalled or quit again, and…[Read more]

I can deal with the less then great brakes but I know the kids are going to drive it and they are certainly not use to a car without modern stopping power.

Making the TD stop like the S2000 might be a little spendy. (These guys do have a remote brake booster available for $800). I’ll do some research….Meantime, at stop lights, neutral = no creeping & less leg fatigue. It’s a TD, you gotta shift it some time!:-)

You may want to do some research before installing your new module. I run a Mallory “Unilite” electronic ignition module and if you don’t hookup the “+” and “-” wires from the coil correctly you immediately burn the module; I learned that hard (and expensive) way. In my case my Bosch coil is marked as “1” and “15”. instead of “+” and “-” a… -

I must be spoiled with my Honda S2000. It can’t weight too much more than my Fiberfab with the Chevy 283. But the S stops like a race car would, quickly and smoothly (even if I’m not using all of the 240 horse power) The 283 is enhanced, so maybe it’s giving me at least 300 hp, but stopping is just fine at slower speeds. I do not trust it lik…[Read more]

Lime runs. Apparently a road rally involving bags of lime or other markers to mark the route. The twist is, the lime bag or marker comes at a cross roads, and the driver doesn’t know which direction is right until they go another mile. If there’s another bag of lime there, then they guessed right. If not, go back to the last bag and guess again.Right?

ED, I think you are on the mark my chevette powered stops as good as any with power brakes . i could net get power brakes in and behind the intake .But if you need power brakes look in to a system from a early Hyundai they there power system in the right side with a cross over system for the brakes ‘mid 80’s’ Excel Dan

Hey BeBop,
Yup I know the area pretty well.My sister used to have a vacation home north of Bushkill Falls. Similar to you, a vinyl sided prefab went in on the next lot. They sold the house the next summer.Thankfully the park where the falls are is still quiet and “away from it all”. And the falls themselves are as beautiful as ever. -

To Paul, Ever hear of Bushkill Falls PA, known as the Niagra falls of PA ? I had a mountain cabin there until last year. 20 years ago when I got it it was all vacation homes out there but now they put in a park and ride beside the Pocono bazzar and its nothing more than a bedroom community of NYC where they came in and cut down the forre…[Read more]

Guys? Why do you need a power brake booster? Why would you want one?In a 2200-pound car?I ran my Chevy II for many years without one. Front discs, rear drums, all-iron 350 and a Muncie under the hood. 205/70 R-14 Goodyear Eagles on steel rims. The car weighed 2900 pounds. Had the original dual circuit master cylinder from the all-drum days, and it…[Read more]

I want to add a booster to my Chevy engine that seems to have manual Chevette brakes. I found one shop that told me they could move the master cylinder to make room for a power booster. I also plan to get bigger rotors and discs.
