I purchased this car with a bill of sale only. The prev owner got it from Florida and had a promise of paperwork from the seller to be given when he got it from DMV. Ken, I ran the 2300 Pinto engine for years. Bored out, cammed, headers, 4 barrel carb, etc. I eventually killed it at a Hillclimb. I ignored a misfire and put a hole in a piston.

Drug the TDr out to Summit Point to run the Jefferson circuit there. Got 14 laps in. Two laps each attempt. You weren’t given a green flag until you passed Turn 11, then two full laps after that.
This run is where I lost to Turn 7. I fought that corner all weekend.

The electrode tip of the spark plug dropped off. Loose in the cylinder, it destroyed a valve and valve seat. It also damaged the piston.
The end result is its getting a new short block and cylinder head. Not exactly what I needed to hear.
