Once you get them, you have to race. Otherwise you can’t look the guy in the TD next to yours in the goggles.

Nice! Those wire wheels and knock-offs make it look very authentic. They dont make them like That any more! Makes mine look like a rat rig. Good luck!

John, that may be, but if your car feels “light” above 50mph, there’s something to fix. Mine does not feel light even at 75, and I am very much of the opinion that TDrs ought to be highway-driveable. We need to analyze your front suspension & isolate the problem.Do you know what your alignment specifications are?

NICE! Good fire place and a nice stack of split hardwood too, I hope.We got back-to-back three-footers a few years ago in Baltimore & it was a trip. Power went out for more than a day, and we ain’t got no FP in the house…and the gas furnace still needs electric to fire. So that was no fun.

I stand corrected.
I am used to buying tires by their wheel diameter so that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.😡 -

24″ diameter tires, whether using 13, 14, 15 or in my case 16″ wheels.

Sorry, Red. My post was way too tart. So, starting again:WELCOME TO TD REPLICA WORLD!You’ll find a lot of honest help and encouragement here. These cars are really diamonds in the rough, and with a few little tweaks they drive and handle very well. There is some disagreement regarding the weight question. A lot of these ca… -

1. Take the weight out and redo your front beam. It needs height adjusters and you need to remove the small leaves.
2. Add a caster shim to the bottom tube.3. Look for a new/spare engine. Google GEX to understand why. -

newkitman replied to the topic LED Parking and Turn Signal Bulb Question in the forum General Discussion 12 years, 3 months ago
The two bulbs I bought are dual bulb LEDs. Each bulb is supposed to replace the tail/brake light. I’ll just stick with the 1157 for the turn signals and the park/turn lights up front. Nothing with the bulbs or on the box mentions adding resistance so I guess I’m good. Thanks folks for all the info and replies.

I’m certainly not an engineer, nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn last night, but:
1. For those of us running VW-type lens, instead of TD-type, there is also the added benefit that the center metal partition on the lens is removed, making one larger compartment, instead of two smaller ones. Consequently, light from the LEDs is visible from m… -

I don’t.A car made in 2011 with standard LEDs–yeah, brighter than my car, by a lot. But it does not follow that an aftermarket kit, inserted inside my 1950 TD taillight housing, will do as well. Or even that it will do better than the 1157 that is there now. That’s why I’d like to see at least a standard output rating in lumens. Then we could…[Read more]

Thank you Kent.
If you have been behind a production car with LED tailights, I think you’ll agree the LEDs are much brighter. And they have an additional advantage in that they are instant on. Granted that advantage is probably fractions of a second…but faster is better.I gotta believe the 14 LEDs are brighter than the standard 1157 bulb. - Load More
