This really looks like a terrific site! Where to start?

A good childhood friend of mine, Greg, purchased a 1987 London Roadster from a guy who had it made in the Hamptons, New York. It was a neat little car. He sold it a another friend, Steve, who had money to burn. Unfortunately, that guy left it out in the rain for ten ears. I hated to see that little car rotting away and purchased it pretty cheap in 2005. I put it in my mothers garage, and had a friend rebuild the engine from the rusted boat anchor it had become through neglect. My nephews custom made a wooden dashboard to replace the rotting one, taking out the radio in the process, which also had rotted. The cover and bows had long ago rotted and were mildewed scraps and rusted bars which I discarded. I purchased some cosmetic stuff from MG Magic and tried to keep it clean registered, and running while it stayed in my mothers garage, a bit late to undo the damage, but at least no further deterioration would occur. . Trouble is the federal government, my employer, moved me around every couple years. I could only do rudimentary work every few months. I finally settled in Connecticut in a house with a garage, and got the Roadster up here.

I am looking forward to get started on restoring this neat little car. Its running good but man does it need cosmetic work. Lots and lots of rust and rot to go through. I finally pulled off the front shocks yesterday, and was watching with amazement this morning as a guy named Mustie1 on YouTube went through he same thing I am going through. I figure there has to be an exact shock match somewhere in Monroe’s vast warehouse. He apparently never found it.

As I searched for MG kit car shocks, I came upon this site and signed up right away. This looks like a great place to be as I start my journey of taking apart this little Roadster and bringing it back. Hope to glean tons of knowledge from all of the other owners out there.

    Thanks much
