Found this “What is it” on line, seller says it’s a MGTD, but the windshield wipers are on the cowl, like one of us, and the under carriage is strange. Anybody got some ideas?

February 20, 2015 at 11:12 pm #263289Looks like a Morgan. Wonder if mufflers could be under running board for a front engine MGTD replica?

Chevy 2.8 V6, 5 speedFebruary 20, 2015 at 11:16 pm #263290The seller claims it is a 1951 MGTD, but with those windshield wipers, I got my doubts.

February 21, 2015 at 10:44 am #263293Morgan wheels, Morganesque grille. Can’t see the engine but betting hard against XPAG. Whatever it is, it ain’t no MGTD
February 21, 2015 at 2:35 pm #263294I’ve looked at lots of Morgan pics trying to convince my self that this “WHAT IS IT” is a Morgan. I just can’t seem to get a good match up. The windshiels are definitely different and the “WHAT IS IT” has a lot more louvers than any pics I can find on the Morgans, also I can’t find any matching grills. Anybody else got any ideas or match up pics, that might shed light on this “WHAT IS IT”.

Slowly coming back from the ashes...February 21, 2015 at 4:29 pm #263298Definitely a Flat Rad Morgan, probably a 1938 or so. Good price at $34,500.
February 21, 2015 at 4:35 pm #263299Very high looking for Morgan doors. Possibly this ultra-rare 4/4 “Drophead Coupe found at the bottom of the linked page?
And here we go. ’51 Morgan Drophead Coup. Probably this very one. Here it is again. Listed at $42,500 a couple years ago. Considered “realistically priced” then. Engine would be 2-liter. I met a guy with a roadster with that engine and he said it flies. And the Hemmings ad. This looks well-priced…again assuming the condition is good.edsnova2015-02-21 16:45:21

February 21, 2015 at 4:43 pm #263302Wonder why the seller posted it as a MGTD Replica?

February 21, 2015 at 4:46 pm #263303That’ll be one of those ad-stealing bot re-seller bullsh*t sites that are polluting the internet these days. I don’t know how they make their money, but someone must make money because they are becoming ubiquitous.
February 21, 2015 at 9:13 pm #263304I’ve always loved the look of those flat-rad Mogs. If only I hadn’t found my calling as one of print journalism’s ink-stained wretches, and pursued a career that paid well. [Sigh]
