Seems to be a lot of these listings lately in the upper price range. Nice looking car.

February 20, 2015 at 7:50 pm #263266Very nice BCW.
What is the air hose between the fan shroud and the carb? …and where is the air cleaner?February 20, 2015 at 7:52 pm #263267Very clean, low-mile and late production BCW. By the time that one rolled out of the factory they’d made almost 3 times as many as they’d done when mine (#110) was shipped.
Other than the top (hood) needing a bit of a tighten, looks like it was either very well-pampered or very well gone over.Right though–$18k is insane. But that one should be worth a few more than $4500. Depending on the real state of the running gear, and assuming the side curtains are as good as the top, maybe $5k-$6k would not be unreasonable.I wish mine looked that new and clean.February 20, 2015 at 8:45 pm #263268Royal wrote:Very nice BCW.

They’ve relocated the air filter to the area between the shroud and the firewall. Unfortunately, by running the duct through the shroud, they’ve totally screwed up the airflow. That whole #3 and #4 side of the engine will run very hot, and it may even effect the opposite side…
One of my pet peeves – these shade tree engineers would NEVER hack on a water-cooled cooling system like they do these extensively tested air-cooled systems. I’d bet it has no thermostat nor directional vanes/flaps either…. 😕 😕

February 20, 2015 at 10:01 pm #263270At this rate of appreciation, my kit car is out performing my stock portfolio! Lol!
February 20, 2015 at 10:09 pm #263271Dump all your stocks. Buy up all the TDr’s as they become available, then you can set the price and control the world.
Many of us have wondered why they sell so cheaply.
February 20, 2015 at 10:16 pm #263272The thing that amazes me is the price difference between used Speedsters and TDrs…
If you were careful, you could make a buck flipping Speedsters… I think that’s virtually impossible with TDrs. The donor car could be worth more than the finished replica…
