    @newkitman

    I have an MGTD kit minus the carpet. Anyone have an extra kit that was perhaps the wrong color they’re willing to turn loose with. Even if you have a beat up/worn out set that you intend on tossing, I can use it for a pattern for mine. Send me a PM and we’ll work something out.

    Thanks

     Allen, In most TD replicas, the area behind the seat and the front side panels are covered with carpet. The London Roadster and Classic Roadster Duchess used vinyl every where except the floor and tunnel. This is the way that the original MG’s were done. For the most part it is simply a matter of covering some type of backing board with the vinyl material.This is much more resistant to fading and stains and is far easier to keep looking good.You could use cardboard to make patterns and then a better quality board for the ones you actually cover.The same method could be used to make your carpet patterns.

    Larry,

    I like the idea of the vinyl on the area behind the rear seat. I might doo that with my CMC FiberFab kit except for the floor and wheel well arches behind the rear seat area. I’ll carpet those. I guess I could use some butcher paper to make templates for a place here in town that does seats and tops. They may do the carpets for me if I give them a template. Good info. Thanks.
