Another blue sky day, another 85 miles through the hills of north eastern PA, around and then over the Blue Mountain, including this covered bridge just south of Little Gap PA:
It’s a shame they had to put up that serious steel beam to convince folks the bridge clearance is REALLY 10′ 6″.
195 miles over the past two weekends. More power from the 1776, and I’m averaging about 24 mpg on two lane “back country” roads!

September 24, 2012 at 3:29 pm #251956There is no green that can describe my envy! We’re just getting some cool mornings and afternoons down here in Southeast Texas, and my Lafer has developed a starting problem. Arghhh!

Ran ‘er over to Wegman’s today. Stuck behind a school bus most of the way. Couple nice guys in the p-lot had a lot of questions when I got there. These days it usually starts with “Is that a ’68?”
Maybe should’ve made her # 52

September 24, 2012 at 7:00 pm #251962The 68s are much bigger.
One guy today said it looked like an MG TD to him, but he had no idea what year that would be.
Timeless styling, I guess.
September 24, 2012 at 7:31 pm #251963Looks like some great ride’n weather up there. Still a bit warm during the day when you have to stop at a light. Had the car in a couple of parades the last two weeks and it does get hot at about 2 MPH.
We had a cool snap last week and it was only in the high 80’s. Told Moma this was the weather the little car was made for, about 50 mph on a back road just enjoying the ride and the view.September 24, 2012 at 9:19 pm #251964That’s the way.
I like it a lot down into the 60s, even mid-high 50s, with the right kind of leather bomber jacket and the period-correct, fleece-lined leather aviator helmet (AKA the Snoopy Hat).
September 25, 2012 at 9:53 pm #251965I’ll go for the leather jacket, but will stick with a flat cap and earmuffs for a head covering. If, that is, I can ever GET MY DANG CAR STARTED AGAIN!! 😡

PMOSSBERG2012-09-26 15:13:02September 26, 2012 at 1:34 pm #251968For you, Ed, quite possibly. On the other hand (or head, as it were), I look borderline goofy on a good day, and a Snoopy cap would push me into cartoonland for sure.
