It looks as if nobody has started a new project for a year now.I just aquired my fourth TD Replicar.I feel this was a real find.Never assembled, stored warm and dry, after the owner bought it new I think he realized that it was too much for him.He sold it to another fellow who came to the same conclusion.Guages, harness, trim, dash, top, grille shell, bumpers etc.We had to unwrap the paper to look at the stuff.I just read about the other projects here(never realized I could go back more than a year to read the posts)and it seems common to find them abused and neglected after the newness has worn off. That is how I bought my other 3.Something else that seems common to these cars is that when people start to build them they are very careful to do things the right way. Then, there comes a point that you can see in the construction where they just slap the rest together. On the 2 drivers I have I pulled the bodies right off and remounted them.Easy to paint them that way too.I like them because they are a fast rebuild.Other than waiting for parts it takes about 2 weeks for me to run through one. This one will be the first one that nobody has drilled any holes in though. My plan right now is to sell 2 of my finished ones, have this one up by spring, and maybe look for a pinto powered one to try.Mine are all VW and while I like them I want to try something different.I drove a chevette powered car and did not like it at all.Power was OK,just did not like the feel of it.
