September 29, 2013 at 10:11 am #257875I have a VW based TD kit and my kit is a late CMC/Fiberfab kit (some CMC and some Fiberfab parts). I took Paul Mossberg’s advice and downloaded the assembly manuals from the download manuals tab on the left. I haven’t checked the Pinto or Chevette based TD manuals but the VW manuals give the measurements. Hopefully someone with a Pinto based TD will chime in.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackSeptember 29, 2013 at 12:57 pm #257876Not sure what the question is. The Ford and Chevy CMC/FF kits come with a completed frame that receive parts from the donor car. In the Chevette version, it’s almost all bolt on/bolt off. With the Ford kit, there is some serious cutting to get the front cross-member out from the donor car.
September 29, 2013 at 7:07 pm #257877Front crossmember is already in place with the Fiberfab Ford kit. No modifications required. All suspension and steering components bolt right up. Steering column requires modification. Instructions are in the Manual downloads at the left of your screen or obtain components from a supplier such as Borgeson. Rear springs from donor car have to be cut. Truly a lousy arrangement. Build a three link with a panhard rod. Look at the photos in the “Building Alfred” thread. Mine isn’t as pretty. Just make it functional.

"Drive Happy"October 1, 2013 at 1:51 pm #257878Hi Good Luck with your new ford replica. I have one as well 73 Pinto / Capri chasis with a 2.0 motor. I still do not know what the MFG is of the replica itself.
I got lucky and found someone that had a lot of new in the box motor parts and brake parts for the Pinto. If you are looking for any. Please let me know. we can make a deal as I do not have plans for them.October 1, 2013 at 1:53 pm #257879Hello Pyramid448, I also have a Ford Pinto Chasis and motor 2.0. Can not answer your question but would still like to talk to you if you are interested in New in the box Pinto parts.
October 1, 2013 at 7:56 pm #257880Yo, “ItsMeMike”. You’re right down the road from me. Mine is also Ford based. What kind of parts are you sitting on? PM me with a list, please.
Also, the show in VA Beach is the end of the month. Want to run with Paul and I? We’ll meet Ed in Baltimore, caravan south and pick up Dale and parade to VA Beach where we will meet up with others traveling North.Bill Ascheman
