Anyone know of mechanic in south Chicago area that work on MGTD Replicar VW? And also where I can get parts? Thanks…..Vito
August 24, 2015 at 10:49 am #265384I have bought parts from Empi . I believe the don’t sell to you directly, they might be a distribution center . They might have a place in your area . Also there is Pacific J Bugs . Check out Craigs List for mechanic , go to car shows ,see who’s driving a VW aircooled ask them . They can help .
August 24, 2015 at 1:02 pm #265385Here’s a list I’ve compiled over the years. Some are for the original T-series MG, some are for Cobra or Speedster replicas or for VWs, but carry parts that can be used on our cars:

August 24, 2015 at 2:10 pm #265387I am in the Chicago area but have done most of my mechanical work so can’t offer any advice on mechanics. TheSamba has a breakdown of community/businesses/general service/repair which you can search for Illinois locations. You can’t sort by location. Can’t recommend any of them.

I get most of my parts from either http://www.aircooled.net/ or http://www2.cip1.com/
August 25, 2015 at 11:13 am #265388I can’t believe I left Moss Motors off that list. Thanks, Paul.
