Partly built MG TD kit car for sale. Built on 1969 VW chassis. E-bay item #110985741272. Kit color is red. Car located in Chesterfield Missouri.
Not close to me to even look at it. Pictures do look good. Someone in club might be interested.
(Edited to make the item number a link to the auction)PMOSSBERG 2012-12-07 12:45:54 December 7, 2012 at 1:27 am #253265George, Yep, it does look like it might all be there. If I still had a son/helper living at home, I’d consider it. But, alas, too far too late. I can dream though. Fun to watch. Who, other than Rocky and Allen do we have doing a build? ….and both these guys are homing in on the finish line. We/I need another new builder to watch.
December 7, 2012 at 9:39 am #253266Great idea Roy. I started a “Who Is Building?” thread:

December 7, 2012 at 10:27 am #253267I’ve already placed bids on this one, just out of curiosity, what do you think it will go for ?
December 7, 2012 at 10:36 am #253268Wish I had a garage to do this build ..Dan hope you get it !
December 7, 2012 at 12:43 pm #253269If the description is accurate, and there’s no reason to believe it is not, this is a complete kit!
And it sounds like just the sort of project you were looking for Dan.I’m still “sold” on this one. It’s less of a project car, so maybe it’s not what you are looking for.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MG-TD-REPLICA-FIBERFAB-GREAT-CONDITION-LOOK-/261136772060?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3cccf6ebdcThe current bid on the completed car is $2,200 (2 days left)The current bid on the project car is $865 (9 days left)You asked what the partially built car might sell for. If only I hadn’t broken my crystal ball.We talk about the value of these car a lot here in the forum. Those conversations generate a lot of intelligent, well informed opinions. But the reality is any one car or unbuilt kit is worth whatever someone is willing to pay, that day, for that car. That said, I think the partially built car should sell for less than $2,000. Is that an intelligent or well informed opinion? Believe me, the jury is still out on that!PMOSSBERG2012-12-07 12:44:05

December 7, 2012 at 5:44 pm #253270AnonymousInactiveTex I hope you get the winning bid. I bought a un built Fiberfab/CMC kit a while back. it was less than $600. It did not have gagues or wiring No running gear either. It is on back burner for build as I am rebuilding my other Fiberfab .
Rebuilt Vw engines run $800 up to 3000 +. WW for pan tranny, rear end engine anywere from 700 to 2500. Paul is right on what it will bring. A good day for the seller if a person really wants it it could go high. How do you plan to get it to Texas? Unbuilt kit complete will fit in a full size pick up. With wheels on the ground will need a trailer or a tow dolly, or a transport company.Good luck with the bid and your build.December 7, 2012 at 6:26 pm #253271George,I have access to truck and auto trailer with winch (youngest son) It would be around 1200 miles round trip.Where the one Paul found in PA would be around 3500 round trip.
December 7, 2012 at 8:32 pm #253272I just hauled my unfinished kit 300 miles, but I opted for an enclosed trailer. If this unfinished kit is anything like mine, it will most likely not withstand the buffeting of an open car hauler.
I will start my thread in the “Who is Building Thread” in the next day or so… Just as soon as I get the chance to dig into what I have and formulate a game plan. We didn’t even know what color the top and seats were until we unwrapped the plastic. 🙂 -
