If you are interested in a restoration project here is a MGTD kit car that is for sale. My father built it in the late 80’s and I inherited it in 2007. Its been stored in my basement since 2011. Car is located in Southern New Hampshire. Go to the following link for pictures and a description of car.

My MG TDr was very similar, finished by the seller’s father and then left in storage for several years.  Even looked to be the same condition as this car.  The price here certainly seems reasonable, but the purchase price is deceptive.  “Inexpensive restoration” you say?  Thus far I have spent four times on mechanical stuff what I paid for the car, and I still haven’t taken it to the body shop or upholsterer.  Part of the high cost was my desire to lower down and narrow the car, but a lot was spent on actual mechanical stuff related to storage.  When the car sits for a long time, the rubber in the fuel lines rots, the carb gets gummed up, the tires go bad, and I discovered there was a reason mine was in storage for so long … the transmission and shifter needed rebuilding.  I guess it wouldn’t be that expensive if you can do all this work yourself and have a good space to do it in, you aren’t too picky, and you have a wife who is patient with seeing a mess in the garage.  Unfortunately I am disqualified on all counts.  Then I had things that were “optional” but I still wanted, like the capacitive discharge ignition, Weber carb, disk brakes, single outlet exhaust, headrests, shoulder belts, and four-speaker stereo.  By the time I’m through, it’s going to cost well over $15K, but I can’t stop now.  I sometimes think I would have been better off to buy a perfectly restored original MG TD even if I paid $40,000 for it.  But then I’d just have another MG TD and one I’d be afraid to drive.  At least my car will be unique to me. should be fairly safe, really reliable, plus easily serviced.  That is, IF IT IS EVER FINISHED!!!!  OMG, I got this car in running condition last October, and it’s currently still sitting over there at the mechanic, this time it’s waiting for its turn to be rewired after I re-did the dashboard!!!!  Arrrrggggghhhh!!!!

Very good price, IMO. I paid almost that much for one in far worse condition…
