    @edsnova

    You did great. You could never build anything like I was suggesting for anything close to that.

    Good luck!

    Can’t wait to see how this works out!
    Ditto Ed’s comments on the price. Very nice deal!

    Hey guys I am new to the site and was reading some of the posts. Just purchased a vw based MGTD kit. The car Arrived a couple of days ago.The hood had been stolen. does anyone know where I may find a good used hood. A new one is really expensive and after forking out money on the car I was not prepared to purchase a hood.

    If you try to go with an original hood (and I’m assuming you mean just the top) there will be slight variations btw. the ones fabricated for our cars and the 65+/- year old ones in both length and the way the sides curve.

    I have a BCW and confirmed with an original hood top that the side curvature is exactly the same as an original, BUT the length of the BCW hood is a little over 2 inches longer (I think the overall car is about 4 inches longer, so it looks like BCW got 2″ in the front and 2″ in the back.
    A metalshop could probably tack-weld or do some other magic to add the extra that I need and I’m sure if you find an original hood that would work for you too.
    Ebay is where I find alot of stuff.
