Rear hood spare tire extra weight

I have a dayton a migi on a according to the serial number 78

chassis. While I have the body off replacing the pans I am doing some

other items as well. If I take off the fake spare and install the bar to

put a real spare on back, how best to support the weight when the

engine cover is up? At current there is just a thin locking hinge. I was

thinking about fabricating a dual holding bar that would attach inside

the bottom lip and when folded down would seat in a slot in the

bumper bracket. Any other ideas would be great!
