Here’s one on E-Bay, Starting bie required $8,000.00.  More pics on e-bay.

1952 MGTD replica by Daytona MIGI. Only 1,569 miles on total rebuild. Total odometer
8870miles. 1600cc 50 HP 4 cylinder air cooled VW bug engine replaced in 2009 . You
walk in to the VW shop here in Richmond VA. give them your old engine in exchange
for a newly rebuilt 1973 engine. The 1983 kit is on a 1974 Beetle frame. I bought it from
my father in law who needed the money to rebuild his 65 Mustang. It has always been
garage kept but the interior, top and side curtains were in bad shape. The car was taken
to Montrose custom interiors and $4,000 later we had a beautiful top, zip in windows,
seats, carpet, everything is new including the top storage cover. This car is no toy. It
runs 75 mph+ highway speeds, burns no oil and runs and looks great. The paint shines
and the car always turns heads. All the following is NEW: Tires, shocks, generator,
12volt battery, starter, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, Carb, fuel tank, fuel lines, all filters,
hubcaps, steering dampner, rearview mirrors, wipers, air horns, drum brakes, brake
pistons, shoes, all 4 wheels, brake lines, and master cylinder. Chrome engine upgrades,
wood shift knob w/ MG logo, real spare tire and luggage rack. Matching seatbelts, not
the black ones you see in one of the pictures. Seats do not adjust as with many
replicas. I am 6’2” 225 lbs. and my wife is 5’11”. We both fit comfortably. Our heads do
not hit top. Heater works, everything works, all gauges including a cylinder head temp.
gauge. VW air cooled engines leak a few drops of oil. It is called marking their territory.
This does drip a few drops but needs no oil added between changes. Tranny and clutch
work great. Buyer is responsible for shipping. If you are close to Richmond let me know.
This car comes with a custom tow bar that fits a standard 1 and 7/8 hitch ball. It is easily
towed. I want to add a couple of things. I have been asked many times if this car is the
real thing. If you are not a purist, and some of my friends are, here are a few
advantages of a replica. Its faster and handles better than the original . You can have
fun driving it everywhere and not worry about hurting a $30,000 one of a kind car. The
parts are cheap and most are at your local auto parts store. You can get a brand new
100hp engine for around $4,000. The engine comes out with 4 bolts and you can set it
on the workbench. Its good on gas and a blast to drive. You can modify it to your
personal tastes. You get the idea. Happy bidding
Car location: Providence Forge, Virginia, United States
    Starting Bid:  $8,0000.00

    Very nice car.

Not sure I’d spend four grand on my interior and roof. But the interior in this car is truly beautiful!

Anyone tracking all these ebay auctions to their closings? Haven’t had time to do that myself. But it would be really nice to know what cars are actually selling for.

if you save a search for replica convertibles – best way to limit the field then look at Left side of “for sale” page click completed listing page. scroll for green numbers to get sold items, a lot fall thru anyway, not sure how long they stay a week or 10 days you won’t miss much
just checked last 3 tdr’s did not sell.
