Well
I had a broken shock absorber on Bebop, which is a 1986 English Ford Cortina. It was not that bad except the constant metallic tinkling you could hear from the loose dust cap. I tried for a long time to replace or cross-reference and buy a set of the Armstrong shocks it had but couldn’t find them and were no longer in production. So I took the broken one off and tried to weld it and that lasted exactly one day.So online I found an outfit that specializes in Hard to Find Suspension Parts for Classic and Custom Cars and trucks. I measured the old part about eight different ways and sent off for two front shocks. It cost $230 for the set but that’s the way it goes. But they were made right and fit perfect.
So if any of you need hard to find suspension parts for your replica or kit cars try: A-1 Shock Absorber Company, Mark@ShocksToSprings.com 970-513-8283 or 800-344-1966.

Once I bought one of those Pertronics four cylinder electronic ignition kits for it and never got it from back-firing no matter how I turned it 180 So I am on my last 2 sets of points that turned out to be from Bosch Boat Motor of all things that’s in there. But heck I only changed the points once in twenty years. I’ll look for john the brit if I need ya thanks Randy E
