    Guys,

I need some help – I have been working out the last few small issues on my ride a little at a time. One issue still outstanding is the Tach on my car is set to I believe 8 cyl instead of 4 cyl on my repro vintage gauges. The instructions say it is adjustable, but have yet figured how to adjust. Anybody know how? I remember there being a couple of small holes in the back of the tach, but was never able to get it adjusted right. Thanks for any help.

    Dale,

The tachs that I have seen have a 3 position adjustment on the backside.  4, 6 or 8 cylinder.  You may have to use a magnifying glass.

Do you remember how to adjust? Small screwdriver maybe? I don’t remember any markings on the rear to indicate anything.

Schu – If you have gauges made by Vintage, check the back. The Vintage gauges have a number of terminals on the back and then a bluegreen switch with an arrow on it. Insert a screwdriver into the arrow slot and turn the arrow to 4, 6, or 8. I’ll send you the sheet from my gauges if it’ll help.

I will take a look again – I do not remember seeing anything like that, but it has been a while – I do  remember that there were no markings – just two very small holes. I guess a light/mirror and upside down. Maybe better just to get loose and pull out and try and adjust.

Yes. You will certainly have to pull it to even get a look at that set screw. Then it will be easy.
