Dunno what this guy actually has, but anyone needing parts might want to contact him. For the $600 asking price, I expect you might get a lot of parts: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5792069690.html
The kit is somewhere in California, but there are currently two (2) TDRs for sale here in Las Vegas — I’ve never seen either one of them around town, but they look okay in the pictures.

The second one has a 1986 VW engine in it. lol
October 20, 2016 at 7:51 am #302160It doesn’t look like the first car ever had a top,not that you need one in L.V. The red one would be better year round choice. But again, living in L.V. you wouldn’t need to use the top that often. I think these cars look nice with a top, even if it’s folded down. Both look like nice cars…

October 20, 2016 at 5:45 pm #302162Steve, I got a good chuckle out of your belief that we wouldn’t use a top here in Las Vegas. To the contrary, rare would be the day that we would NOT use the top. It’s not a matter of comfort (it’s in the 70s today) or rain (rain? I don’t even have side curtains), it’s a matter of the strength of the sun here. We still get plenty of sunshine and fresh air with the top UP but we don’t get that severe sunburn in 30 minutes!
October 20, 2016 at 5:51 pm #302164Same here in the south. While driving with the top down its okay. But in traffic stopped at a traffic light, with the top down you really cook. That’s why a lot of folks locally drive their convertibles with the top up and windows down. What’s bad is the top down with the windows up. 😮
We now return you to the Unfinished Kit Available topic.

I forgot how HOT it could get in a convertible! One of the WORST times I had was getting stuck in Chicago construction traffic last summer at 98 deg. I thought I would FRY! Really do need a top, even in the tropics!

October 21, 2016 at 1:18 pm #302168Funny this came up.
I will be working a fix for the summer FRY this winter.
I have a plan and hope to offer a inexpensive summer top that will work for most all of us and can be adapted to fit to your car.
It will be a TD bikini top with no windows and open in the back – light weight and waterproof on the top and easy on and off.
Once we get the sample made for mine I will see if there is interest for more.
Stay tuned…
