    Cool stuff.

    I watched a couple of the Palm Springs sports car race videos. You’ll see some TDs and TFs sprinkled throughout.

    Enjoy!

    @jenkinen

    The Cal Club put on some good races up and down the California coast. The Santa Barbara Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) sponsored races at the Goleta airport on Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends. It was that project that caused me to join the Jaycees and later chair the 25th running of those races in the early 60’s. The Cal Club ran the races and the Jaycees ran the event. The races stopped when Aerospacelines forced us to increase our insurance to cover their Guppie aircraft. It was a shame because Santa Barbara was popular with the racers. Some came there when they didn’t go to other races.

    WTF was that red #66? Looked like it was from a Speed Racer cartoon!

    The guy in the Kaiser Darren was having some trouble with that turn! Nothing like using you head for a roll bar!

    Sand in the carb for hot Allard was a hoot too!

    Nice guard rails…cones and hay bales!!!

    I watched it twice!!!!

    How did that dude survive that rollover unscathed? Was he thrown clear?

    @pmossberg

    Looked to me like he crawled out from under, on the side away from the camera.

    Duck and cover!
