Well, the summer is ending and I still have the car. Had a few calls, but very few have actually looked at the car.

I’d still like to get $4,800, but will entertain any offers.

Well, I listed it on Craigslist and WOW…..

Within 24 hours, 7 contacts, all scammers. Not one person interested at $5,500.

I did have one guy (high likelihood of a scammer) said $3k cash and not a penny more.

Guys, if you know someone looking for a great TD kit car for minimal money, this is it.

OK, no bites on the previous posting.

Let me try the listing in a different fashion.

Per the chassis tag, this is a ’76 Daytona MiGi on a ’71 VW type 1 chassis. From the documentation that comes with the car, looks like the assembly finished in the early 80’s. I purchased the car as a runner (drove it home from Racine, WI), but it needed “help”. Over the past 2 years, the “help” has been given and is a strong running/functioning car. The top and side curtains are in great shape. (2) sets of wheels/tires in great condition (less than 300 miles each). Wheels were blasted and powdered. New “banjo” steering wheel. Engine 100% rebuilt and very strong. New clutch. Era UK license plates. Just installed front TD turn/park lights and purchased (but not installed) TD square tail lights with LED inserts ($300). Clear title (Illinois as a ’71 Beetle).

The car is back in my garage in Plainfield, IL (South West suburb of Chicago)

I welcome any local forum members to come inspect and drive the car, even if you have no interest in purchasing. This is a solid car that needs a good home and the word needs to be circulated to a person who is looking but can’t find the right car at a low price.
