I was trying to show the dimensions of the blanking plate with a ruler, but the photo came out smaller.  The ruler shows that the blanking plate is 7 inches (180 mm) long. It is 2 1/4 inches wide (60 mm).

This is the gap that I covered and the blanking plate I brought on Ebay.  Is your gap slightly wider? If so would you consider cutting out a larger chrome or stainless plate that goes behind the black plate?

    cheers

    G’day Trevor

I’ve just joined a couple of weeks ago. I’m across the ditch in New Zealand.

Post a pic of your car.

    Cheers Blake

    Looks good Stefan

Are you planning on installing a new car radio, something that looks retro?

I’ve just removed my radio, was not working and looked too modern.  I covered the gap with an MG blanking plate which I brought on Ebay.

    Cheers Blake

Thanks for the link. I may end up buying 12 of these pointers so they all look the same.

There are a couple of other things on the website which bits may get, depending on the international shipping rate (to New Zealand)

I rather like the look of that dash plate, just not sure I could justify the price at this stage.

    Thanks

    Hi Edward

When I first purchased the car it had these hexagonal cut outs fitted between the gauge bezel and dash.  I had to remove the gauges to take them off.  They are chromed brass, but the chrome is a bit pitted with blue/green spots. I’m thinking of sending them off to get them re-chromed. The gauges are Smiths gauges (made in England) which I believe are from the donor car.
