WOW! Your air filter creation looks Great! I have the same clearance problem and I’ve been using the smaller air filter on top of the carb since I’ve owned my car. I like your set-up much better!

I haven’t chimed in for a while but I couldn’t resist. The Penny Marie is a Duchess also and I’ve never had a problem with heat. I’ve been on the freeway in 90 degree temps going fast and I think I got hotter “and more sunburned” than the car. She’s never overheated on me. I also have the big round hole behind the spare tire but no one…[Read more]

The Penny Marie is a Grand Duchess and I fill the tank by removing the factory Eagle hood ornament that stands above the front grill. I like to think of it as “It’s where the Eagle Sh@#$”. It took the dealer and me a while to find the gas tank when I bought the car from the classic car dealership. We both laughed when we found it.

Maybe check the O ring around the shaft on the new distributor. I had the same problem with mine and I put the old O ring on the new unit and it dropped right into place. Hope this helps.
