Just a new member hello.  Bought a 1984 MIGI (at least that’s what the title says), today so I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions as I move along.  It’s a VW based kit. Rough shape, but the glass/paint looks pretty good.  Lotsa rust on the chrome, though.

    Welcome to the club, Hugh.

Protip #1: With the expense (and risk) of rechroming these days, I prefer to call “rust” “patina.”

Look forward to hearing about your car.

Hey Bill, your name sure sounds familiar.  Have we met at some event or another?  Do you frequent the Cars & Coffee thing out on the north side?

If you’re talking about the one that used to be held at the Vintage off 249 & Louetta, I did go to one very early on. Drool-worthy machines, but WAY out of this old newspaperman’s bracket. I have been known to visit the Niftee50s gathering from time to time. Maybe we met there. Ermm
