    @stickney

    Presented the car yesterday at a show that featured race cars. Among them was a very fast car powered by a 225 hp 2.3L engine! In fact, he was running the same Holley 4 bbl that I was! We traded numbers of course, and I now have a rich source of info for working on my car!

    Greg,

    Here is a link that Geoff had posted a while back.

    I still haven’t done anything with my wiring yet, thanks for the info on that.

    Greg,

    Now WE have a rich source of info….you.

    Since you’re in the neighborhood, maybe you can run over and give Mel’s baby a pat for him. Mel has probably got the countdown started, from the day he left Florida.

    I have a Holley 2bbl and that gives me plenty of zip on the stock 1974 engine, can’t smoke the tires, but can feel the acceleration just fine. The book says the 74 2.3L is 90 HP (Chilton) from the factory, but doesn’t tell much more on the specs that gave it the rating.

    James:

    Your are right about the countdown

    81 days till I drive Mrs. Peel again, 230 days till I retire and drive her every day.

    I 2nd your nomination of Greg as 2.3L engine guru..

    Mel is just jealous that we’re here driving around in our car while HE is still wandering around in that world called…. WORK! I try not to remember what that was. We are enjoying retirement way to much for that!
