This one was on there a couple months back., and now back again. Has some good closeup pics of a Lafer that shows how unique it is. No suicide doors, air vents over the engine, pedals relocated farther back, etc.
Did anyone else notice the top of the doors, the rear of the front side glass, and the top of the side tub by the seat backs are all channeled? Rigid side curtains, perhaps?

That’s right, Kent. The MP Lafer is a Brazilian manufactured roadster design with a lot of styling cues from the TD, but it is not a TD Replica per-se. The doors are hinged at the front and the side windos are windows, not curtains.
That one looks a bit rough to me. I had thought they all had chrome grill shells.
All the original MP series had chromed mock grill shells, but the later TI series (like mine – photos in the gallery) had almost no chrome at all — even the bumpers were body colored. At some point, the grill shell probably got too pitted and flaky, hence the flat black grill and front bumper. If it were mine, I’d have the shell painted to match the body, and paint just the “slats” either black or silver.
