    @royal

    Looks good and seems very reasonably priced. My guess: Fiberfab.

    For some reason the link worked this morning.  I paid double that, and mine didn’t look near that good when I got it.  The paint job is almost exactly like mine.  Wish I had room for another one.  Those gals driving it, do they come with the deal, you can dream can’t you?

    @edsnova

    That does look like a pretty viable TDr for the money which, incidentally, is what I paid for Bridget in the fall of 2009.

    That ad has been up a while. The market is still pretty thin.

    Not a bad price, but be aware that ’65 VWs were king-pin front suspension, instead of ball joint. Rears suspension was swing-axle, instead of IRS.  Also, the original engine was a 40HP, and unless the tranny has been changed, you cannot easily use a larger engine (such as 1500cc or 1600cc) because the bell-housing on the tranny will only accept a 180mm flywheel/clutch instead of the larger 200mm that came with larger engines.  Also the 6-volt original starter has a different shaft size so you must use an adapter bushing to change it to 12volt.

    A ’69 or later pan is a much better starting point… it gives you ball-joints, IRS rear suspension, better brakes, and tranny that will allow you to use larger engines.

    IMO, that ’65 pan is likely why this hasn’t sold, and is what’s keeping the price/value down…

    Early FF TDr on 69 VW pan
    Slowly coming back from the ashes...
