    @nobody

    So over these last few weeks I have made a fair bit of progress toward the final goal. Sunday I spent some time re-assembling the rear apron and engine cover. I had taken the apron off to do some glass work and fill all the holes and wear spots and start from a nice fresh canvas. Now everything back there is nice and straight, just gotta worry about all the rest of the holes and craziness in the front half… Cry😆

    Also got an alternator installed after having my old generator go dead. (Just short of getting home of course!!) Pretty easy swap out, but you do need a special tool to swap the oil filler to the new alt stand. Luckily the old Veedub guy I know had one I could borrow.
    A little further back I also got a Weber progressive carb to replace the old 34-pict-3 that had leaky throttle bushings creating a pleasant vacuum leak. It’s running beautifully with a nice steady idle at 800rpm (and boy that sounds good after having to run rich for a vacuum leak.) She steps on it nicely as well! I don’t think I’d stand a chance against your Suby power or 2110 but still pretty dang fun!
    Feels good to finally have all the mechanicals fairly well buttoned down and be able to start finishing bodywork, then I need to find an interior, and finally paint. Then Whalah!

    Yeah man. It’s a great feeling to be out cruising and not choking out the people coming up behind you with unburnt fuel.

    So another quick update.

    I ordered a few VDO gauges yesterday from a place in NV and what great service! They got here today with free shipping! Thumbs Up
    Got them installed this evening after work and boy do they look good!! (And as a bonus they work too!)Now I need to replace the rest!
    Anyways I got a clock and voltmeter as the amp meter and temp gauge were doing me no good. Spent a total of $60 for the both of them and I would call it a good purchase to complete my gauge setup. As I said though they look way better than the old ones so I’m going to have to upgrade the rest soon.

    I got the gauges from summit racing. Link I also ordered a defroster kit from them that should be here Saturday.

    Most of my engine parts (Volkswagen engine) I will order from aircooled.net unless I can find it locally.

    Hey, thanks Derek! I’d had their website bookmarked at one time, but lost it when that old PC cratered.
