Who has the Emergency Flasher Relay in their VW based TDr? How did you wire it in?

I do, but I can’t really help you. I didn’t wire it, and mine appears to use the whole ’69 donor harness… At least for now. Will totally rewire it when I upgrade the dash.KentT2016-05-13 18:30:03

The easiest way is to find a hot wire that goes to the left two blinkers and also a wire that goes to the right two.  Then, attach one wire to one pole of a spst (simple on/off switch) and the other wire to the other terminal of the switch.

Now when you have the new switch off, nothing is changed.

When you turn your new (hazard/emergency) switch and put your turn signal in either position (right or left) all 4 corners will flash.  They will flash at a different rate than your normal turn signals, but so what??

I updated the electrical drawings from a FF and added relays for the headlights, fogs, blower and windshield wiper motor. As there were no hazard/4 way circuit I added it to the drawing. I have sent the drawings to a couple of members. If you can use the drawings let me know and I can send the .pdf fileToller2016-05-14 08:55:02

Thanks for the tip. I’m going to give it a try.
Unable to find my hazards, I resorted to using 2 bicycle flashers when I needed to tow my LR. They did the trick, letting others know there was an issue, but NOT the best solution!
I have found several switches on the dash that don’t seem to do anything. I think the previous owner(s) may have gotten “creative”…
