The year I went, as I approached the event, I was waved into the show field
enterance and lined up with original TD’s. Eventually someone noticed and Iwas placed in another area for kits. I thought it was pretty funny. -

Ray,, the manifold and carb. came from Quebec the claim is that they are more open with longer runners for better torque. the carb. is a n.o.s. 1972 before GM had to lean them out to meet US emissions,,they are still available on line, as off road . the later carbs. had vacuum secondary throttle plates. I also changed over to hand choke .

About 2:15 from my house. Very doable on a nice day. They’re an MG club though. Kinda doubt they’d let our interlopers on their show field.Might be fun to park with the civilians and let ’em gawk though. The non-show parking for MGs on the Rocks was so stuffed full of legit old British iron my car did not even stand out. Guys who wanted to save…[Read more]

Dan, I am working on trying to fit some MGB wire wheels to my MG. Trying to figure out whether to adapt the adapter to 130mm (VW chassis) or redrill the brake drums to fit the adapter. But, after I solve that problem, I still have another: The wheels are chromed and are pitting and flaking and rusting. Painted wires are ok with me but how to p…[Read more]

Don’t scroll back up.
Right here in the “quick reply” box, click the icon that looks like two white boxes with an arrow pointing to the upper right corner. (second from the right)Hover over it and you will see it opens the “Full reply Editor” -

Yeah. No pictures in the “quick reply” box. Gotta go to the top of the thread and hit the “Post Reply” button.Half the time I have my post half written in the “quick” box before I remember this, and I have to strip it out and paste it in the new box & then find the up-arrow-tree icon so I can post a photo.

I drove myself nuts the other night trying to get pictures posted.
I found that you can’t put them in this box.Click on the “Post Reply” box onder the last post and you get a much larger boxto play with.(that doesn’t sound quite right).Above that box is an icon with a little tree in it. click that andyou can brouse your library for photos to… -
edward ericson replied to the topic Overheating, timing . . . ? in the forum VW Based Kits 13 years, 10 months ago
Pertronix, Roy. SVA. The timing didn’t move; I set it wrong. Too advanced, so it ran a little warm. It did not overheat, according to my Berg dipstick thermometer. Not even close. Just lost 10 lbs of oil pressure at speed. The pressure came back after a few minutes when I slowed the car down. Will recheck & set the valve lash Saturday & then…[Read more]

Ed,
If you’re running an 009 distributor with a 34PICT3, they really don’t like working with each other. I’d switch to a SVA distributor like Roy said. - Load More
